How We Evaluate Financial Products
Every product recommendation on WalletGrower goes through a structured evaluation process. We compare products within their category using consistent criteria, drawing on publicly available data, our own research, and real user experiences.
Evaluation Criteria
While specific factors vary by product category, our evaluations generally consider:
- Value: Fees, rates, rewards, and overall cost-to-benefit ratio for the target user.
- Accessibility: Minimum requirements, eligibility, ease of sign-up, and availability.
- Features: Tools, integrations, mobile experience, and unique capabilities.
- Reputation: Customer reviews, regulatory standing, company track record, and support quality.
- Best-for fit: We identify which specific user profiles each product serves best rather than declaring one universal winner.
How Rankings Work
Products are ranked based on their overall score across our evaluation criteria. Compensation from affiliate partners does not influence rankings. A product that pays us a higher commission will not rank higher than a product that objectively scores better on our criteria. We frequently feature and recommend products from which we earn no compensation at all.
How We Stay Current
Financial products change frequently. We review and update our content on a regular schedule, and whenever we become aware of significant changes to a product's terms, pricing, or availability. Each article displays its last-updated date so you know how recent our information is.
E-E-A-T Principles
Our content follows Google's E-E-A-T framework: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. We write about financial products and strategies based on direct experience and thorough research, cite our sources, and clearly distinguish between factual information and opinions.
